The McPike Mansion, located in Alton, Illinois, has several ghost stories attatched to it. The building, which is currently in need of restoration, was built in 1869 and has gone through several different owners.
The photo above was the last in a series of four taken at different times of the day. This was the only shot in which anything unusual was seen. The picture on the right is an enlargement of a mysterious glow that appeared in a second story window. Some people see a woman leaning. Others believe it is a child facing left and kneeling. However, the mystery has never been explained.
Other photos taken in the house have captured several mysterious orbs in a room on the main floor and a shadowy figure standing in the front doorway.
