Astoria, Oregon is a small seaport town at the mouth of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. This Pacific Northwest seaport has a long and interesting history, beginning when Lewis and Clark arrived in the area in November 1805.
Entering the Liberty Theater at dusk, was like stepping back in time. Once an Opera House that drew crowds of women in long dresses and men in their fancied attire, it has a long history of tragedy and despair. As a result, the Liberty Theater has a reputation with the local residents as being haunted.
Paul, referred to as the longtime resident of the theater, is one of the three known ghostly inhabitants and is also the most aggressive of the trio, appearing before the employees, unexpectedly, frightening them out of their wits.
Lily, another well-known ghostly inhabitant, lost her life inside the theater. Her seat, which she still claims as her own today, is where she perished, at the hands of someone suspected to be her husband or boyfriend.
Mary, the third member of the trio of elusive ghostly inhabitants, seeming occupies the ladies rest room up stairs. Mary was associated with Paul in life, seems cursed to roam the hallways in death with Paul. Mary was a prostitute who worked for Paul, her Pimp. Mary want to be free of her life as a prostitute. She told Paul, who became angry and threw Mary over the balcony to the floor below where she died. She is often seen walking from the balcony area to th ladies rest room.
